Himmelstein is a dynamic German/American pop rock cover dance band that formed in 2014 by parents and faculty of a German/English bilingual school community in Berkeley, CA. The six-piece group features Cristina Mendoza (vocals, keyboard, percussion), Greg Munson (guitar, vocals), Tine Munson (vocals, percussion), Bill Polits (guitar, vocals), Sami Qreini (drums, vocals), and Mike Walz (bass guitar). Cherry-picking their way through the decades of rock, R&B, country, punk, and German pop, Himmelstein aims to please diverse crowds eager to dance.

With a unique community spirit Himmelstein brings a tight-knit energy to their performances. The band has played numerous venues, parties and celebrations to ecstatic multigenerational crowds and has demo tracks available on SoundCloud.
